Time:  6:00-1:00 A.M.  Bowling starts at 6:00 followed by food and an amazing performance by Wonderbread 5 starting at 9:00 P.M.

We want everyone to come out and support Laura Maciej-Vickers and Christine Meyer-Carlos who are battling cancer with all they have. 

Below is a post from Laura Maciej-Vickers last week.  About 4 weeks ago Laura was told her tumor had shrunk 60% and everything was looking great, last week Laura received news that the cancer had spread again:

"After our beautiful day Sammy and I talked about how sick I really am. Telling your child your dying is by far the hardest thing I have ever done especially since I feel really good right now. I reassured her how hard I'm going to fight but things might get really hard soon. The uncertainty is the worst but I'm here now. My fear for her is I'm her rock. Wow, lots of tears tonight."

And her post from facebook below is exactly why we are fundraising for her.  Her spirit and strength, along with Christine's, deserve the chance to explore every option she has to give her more time with the ones she loves and so she can someday run her marathon.  She is not giving up but all these alternative treatments that have kept her alive cost so much money……

"BTW Just because I'm getting my affairs in order and doing what I think is best for my kids doesn't mean I am not going to fight like hell to live!!!! I'm a planner and need my ducks in a row to function. Don't think for a minute that I'm going down without a serious fight. Plus I need to run another Marathon."

Bowling will be so much fun, you can create your teams and compete in RED PIN – HEAD PIN CONTEST, MONTE CARLO BOWLING, 50-50 TICKET DRAWINGS and SPECIAL SPLIT CONTEST.

2nd Annual Fundraiser

Last year we held a fundraising event for a dear friend and Del Campo alum, Laura Maciej Vickers, who is fighting Stage VI Breast Cancer.  The event was a great success.  For all those who attended and donated you gave Laura and her family HOPE and the ability to pursue every treatment available for which they are truly thankful.  They honestly believe that without this ability, Laura’s body would not be capable of receiving the numerous treatments she has had over the last 4 years.  Doctors have commented on this several times over the years and attribute it to the supplements, hyperbaric treatments, Vitamin C treatments, colonics, coffee enemas, Weston A. Price and organic diet, etc. that our fundraiser helped provide.  These alternative treatments helped shrink her tumor by 60%.   Laura continues to fight her battle.  You can visit her blog at www.lauravickers.blogspot.com.

Since that fundraiser we found out that another one of our friends, and DC alumni (86), Christine (Meyer) Carlos, was diagnosed with Stage VI Colon Cancer.  Christine is married and has 3 children ages 13, 11 and 6.  By the time Christine’s cancer was diagnosed it had spread to her liver and her lungs.  She is on a very strong regimen of chemo hoping to decrease the cancer cells.

SATURDAY, MAY 21^st   we will be hosting a 2^nd annual fundraiser.  Profits from this fundraiser will help Laura be able to continue her alternative treatments and help Christine’s family with the “new” financial burdens they are facing due to this horrible disease.  Our goal for this year is to exceed last year’s profit of almost $15,000. Our future hope is to make this an annual event so that we can continue to support friends and fellow DC Alumni.

We are bringing back WONDERBREAD 5 for our second annual event.  Last year they donated their services which was a huge help in the success of the fundraiser in addition to making the evening amazing and memorable.  Come out, get funky and dance the night away.
To add to the excitement from last year there will be bowling, dinner, an auction and raffle.
